Why So Serious?

I’ve finally had the chance to watch The Dark Knight, the sequel to 2005′s rebirth of the franchise, Batman Begins. Staring Christian Bale (Batman), the late Heath Ledger Man (Joker), and Maggie Gyllenhaal (Rachel Dawes). Man am I an idiot for waiting so long to watch this movie.
I won’t describe the plot, since we all hate spoilers, but I’ll try to give a slight briefing. Set a few years after the original movie, Batman is (As one would assume) still an ass kicking vigilante who is in the hearts of the public, going so far as to influence more vigilanteism with the citizens. (Batman disapproves of this however, as it’s clear these people are harming other lives- as well as their own)
Fulled with fantastic action scenes, a plot that’s very intriguing and looks inside the human psyche; it’s a must watch. ★★★★
(Do note my cousins (6, 5 and 3) really wanted to see this movie. However, while Batman is very appealing to children, I recommend that they don’t attend the movie. The later half of the movie would be… less then pleasing to children. If they do insist on watching “Batman”, I’d advise putting on Batman Begins, or even one of the animated features… but dear god, don’t put on Batman and Robin.)
3 Movies, 1 cu… Day

I watched Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb, the Kubrick classic. This movie is very intelligent, witty, and full of I-see-what-they-did-there moments. The scenes between the American President and the Russian Prime Minister are some of the most hilarious moments in all of cinematography. If you’ve delayed watching this movie, you’ve waited long enough. This movie is a MUST watch. Animefreek approved. ★★★★/★★★★
Some relatives from England are visiting, so I thought (My father did, more precisely) that Horton Hears a Who would be great for the kids. I was worried considering the other Dr. Seuss movies have been… well simply put- failures. Horton on the other hand changes that. A fun movie for the kids (Who seem to rather enjoy it) and jokes that the adults would only get, it’s good for the whole family. ★★★/★★★★
After that, I decided that the classic Monsters, Inc. would be a great follow up. The film is a personal favourite with great voice overs, beautiful soundtrack, and a tremendous storyline. Then again, this is Pixar; you should expect such high quality. If you haven’t seen it before, you must watch it. Great for the kids, and I’m sure you will personally enjoy it as well. Animefreek approved. ★★★★/★★★★
For a recap: Watch Dr. Strangelove ASAP. Not for the kids, but it’s a masterpiece. Horton is an above average movie for the family. If you need some entertainment, it’s not a bad way to go. Then again, Monsters, Inc. is always there as a much better (Not to discredit Horton, but Monsters is a great movie) alternative to the generic family movie.
